One of the goals of EVO is to act as a source of information about environmental cloud services, particularly those related to the terrestrial water cycle. This is why EVO is developing and making available a suite of information resources on these topics.
Like many technical disciplines, cloud computing and environmental science use jargon. So EVO is developing a glossary of common terms to help make the technical language understandable for the non-specialist.
There are numerous publications and sources of information available concerned with cloud computing and environmental issues related to the terrestrial water cycle. EVO is compiling a list of some of the key publications.
An important part of the EVO initiative is to document available environmental datasets and models that are potentially available for use in the cloud. We are also bookmarking some web sites where EVO partners, and other researchers and communities working on similar issues provide information on relevant environmental issues and web services.
